Frontier Airlines Detroit Terminal +1-888-839-0502
I never thought that traveling with two children on a low-cost airline like Frontier Airlines Detroit Terminal could be enjoyable. My expectations, however, were totally altered by our recent journey from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW). Our four-person family was searching for a cost-effective way to travel to relatives who lived a few states away, and Frontier's tickets were just what we needed. I nevertheless prepared myself for the typical annoyances: perplexing check-in procedures, sour employees, and mayhem at security. Instead, we had a surprisingly easy, effective, and even family-friendly experience. We got to DTW's North Terminal—which is the only one used by Frontier—early. From the moment we walked in, the space felt manageable — not overly crowded, well-signed, and easy to navigate. The self-service kiosks were straightforward, and a friendly staff member helped us tag our bags and check the stroller with no fuss. Security moved quickly too, and TSA agents were patient with our kids, which made a huge difference. Once through, we found ample seating near our gate, picked up a few snacks, and had time to relax. Boarding was orderly and on time, with families pre-boarded — a small kindness that matters when you're juggling backpacks and toddlers. The Frontier crew greeted us with smiles, helped us get settled, and even handed out coloring pages to the kids. The flight itself was smooth and quiet, and while the seating was basic, it worked just fine for a short domestic route. We landed feeling surprisingly relaxed. For a no-frills airline, Frontier Airlines DTW out of DTW really delivered — not just in price, but in professionalism and ease. It’s not luxury, but it’s efficient, clean, and, most importantly, family-friendly when you plan ahead. I honestly wouldn’t hesitate to book them again from Detroit.
